3 Best Cafes to work in Chaing Mai 2024 – Chiang Mai is a popular destination for digital nomads (DN) and remote workers, thanks to its relaxed atmosphere, affordable living, and excellent cafe culture. Recently, we joined the DN life – or at least try to identify as one. We find ourselves looking for cafes to work in but at the same time try not be “disruptive” of their everyday business by hogging a table when it gets busy. Besides the most basic like WIFI connection and maybe a power socket, Here are 3 best cafes to work in Chiang Mai and the reasons they are perfect for getting work done:
1. Building A
Building A is our FAVORITE spot to enjoy a balanced mix of work, relaxation, and a touch of local culture. It’s a combination of cozy, modern design with elements that retain some of its history—think a work desk, ancient books on engine mastery, catalogues, and an old typewriter on display. AND its proximity to other beloved spots like Me & Bacon Café and Kon Ra Yum really sets it apart for us as a go-to choice for a day out with option to have have fantastic coffee, delicious food and then an opportunity to unwind after a day’s work
Why Building A Stands Out – as one of our 3 best cafes to work in Chiang Mai:
- Cozy, Modern, Laid-back – The café’s design strikes a balance between being modern and laid-back, creating a comfortable yet creative space that makes it perfect for a productive work session.
- Connection to Me & Bacon Café – If you’re a breakfast / brunch lover, you’re in the right space – Me & Bacon is known for its hearty, delicious menu, which complements Building A’s atmosphere if you want a solid meal during a productive day without having to leave your seat. (ok, you need to leave your seat to order – but a stretch is good for long hours of seating)
- Right above Jazz Vibes at Kon Ra Yum – For those who appreciate live music, the jazz bar just downstairs is a perfect way to unwind in the evening after a productive work. They serve small plates food and with a drink or two, its a nice touch of relaxation tocomplete your day.
- It’s kind of Secretive – Finding Building A gives you the sense that you’ve uncovered a hidden gem. You walk through an alley, seemingly into someone’s space, pass some kayaks and paddles, go up a set of stairs, walk through another café, and eventually find yourself in Building A
It’s like a charming corner of Chiang Mai to explore for when you’re working during the day and unwinding after hours, Building A offers the perfect mix of relaxation and productivity.
